The centre of gravity of superyacht building has shifted eastward. According to the 2024 global order book, Türkiye has emerged as the second-largest superyacht builder, surpassing the Netherlands for the first time. With 132 superyachts currently under construction, Türkiye’s new build total gross tonnage will exceed 73,000 GT. Most impressively, the order book has grown by 40% in just one year.
Sea & Symphony, the Italian company specialised in TV lifts and custom moving solutions, has solidified its position in this expanding market through a partnership with Artsys Electronics, Turkey’s leader in marine entertainment technology, appointing the company as its official authorised distributor.
“We are excited about this partnership,” states Eugenio Troglia, Export Manager at Sea & Symphony. “The team at Artsys possesses a high level of expertise and provides exceptional after-sales support—two crucial elements for fostering strong relationships with shipyards.”
Artsys is the go-to company in Türkiye for marine entertainment and comfort automation systems, delivering high-end yacht automation solutions since 2015. Partnering with top global manufacturers, they provide advanced audio-visual systems, lighting, shade automation, and 5G network solutions.
To date, Artsys has successfully completed 87 yacht projects, with an additional 24 projects set to be completed by early next year. Their portfolio includes vessels ranging from 20 to 80 metres.
“Marine projects present greater challenges than residential ones due to their operation in constantly moving environments. As a result, the equipment must be constructed from high-quality, durable materials. We have confidence in the durability of Sea & Symphony’s products, having received no negative feedback from yacht owners and encountered no failures over the past three years.
To address space limitations onboard, custom solutions are often required, and Sea & Symphony is ready to support us in delivering tailored designs. By listening to the requirements of shipyards and designers and collaborating closely with Sea & Symphony, we can create solutions that incorporate large TVs and TV lifts, perfectly fitting into small, confined spaces.” said Baris Konyali, Manager at Artsys.
Demand for custom moving solutions is growing among all shipyards, and Turkish yards are no exception. Recently, Sea & Symphony designed and built a custom-made robot light entertainment system developed specifically for a 50m superyacht, which will be exhibited at the Superyacht Summit Türkiye.
While primarily known for its TV lifts, Sea & Symphony also offers a comprehensive range of bespoke moving solutions. Their engineers are currently working in the headquarters in Turin on an innovative project to lift an entire wheelhouse—further demonstrating their technical expertise and adaptability.
The two companies are set to exhibit at the Superyacht Summit Türkiye on 26th-27th November at the Çırağan Palace in Istanbul. Artsys and Sea & Symphony will showcase their latest solutions in the only audio-video entertainment stand of the summit.
Commenting on the event, Troglia stated, “Though still relatively new, the Superyacht Summit has quickly attracted renowned speakers and guests. This year, once again, it will bring together industry leaders to discuss emerging trends and innovations. The Turkish market is increasing his demand for quality and sophistication, with shipyards now eager to meet Northern European standards. Adopting high-quality, Italian-made components supports them in demonstrating the quality of their vessels.”
In Türkiye, the marine sector has seen significant growth over the past decade, fuelled by the creation of free zones, tax breaks, and other incentives. Many shipyards in the region are leveraging their expertise in military and commercial vessels and expanding their offerings to the leisure industry.
Baris Konyali shares his opinion “With technological advances and the trend towards larger yachts, entertainment and comfort automation have evolved from luxury add-ons to essential onboard features. Last year’s summit was highly productive for us at Artsys. Showcasing our solutions led to several new collaborations with shipyards. This year, we will exhibit Sea & Symphony TV lifts, a custom lift for disco lights, and K-array speakers.”
In recent years, Sea & Symphony’s role in Türkiye has evolved from an occasional supplier for some shipyards to a consistent partner across both boutique and serial production yards, also thanks to Artsys’s efforts. Actually, Sea & Symphony product quality and pricing provide solutions that cater to both ultra-custom builds and more standardised production.
Participation in the Superyacht Summit Türkiye will further solidify Sea & Symphony’s brand authority in the Turkish market. For Troglia, whose academic and professional background has provided him with in-depth insights into the culture and economics context of the region, the summit presents a strategic opportunity.
“Our goal is to reassure our Turkish clients that we are here to stay. Just as we’ve established a long-term partnership with most shipyards in Italy, the world’s leading country for yacht building, our capabilities position us as a reliable, stable partner also for Türkiye’s ambitious yachting industry”
