the foundation
In 1995, Nino Biagini and Giovanna Sorba founded Sea & Symphony. In that year, the couple developed a speaker system for their boat, after realising that it was impossible to find speakers on the market that were suitable for marine use and could maintain the aesthetics of a sailing boat. Requests from friends and acquaintances and the interest aroused by this product made it clear that there was a market need not yet covered, and Nino and Giovanna decided to follow their entrepreneurial spirit by founding Sea & Symphony and filing the first patent. The company's first product line was in fact a series of low-flux speakers with brass or other metal frames, mounted inside portholes, a great innovation for the time. This solution, like all Sea & Symphony products, combines functionality and aesthetics, essential for a product intended for use on board.
first TV lift
5 years after its foundation, a product was introduced for the first time that was destined to mark the company's fortunes for many years to come. The first TV movement mechanism saw the light at the dawn of the new millennium, marking the beginning of a new era. In those years, there was still no real market. The era of cathode ray tube televisions was coming to an end and the advent of the new flat screens led Nino and Giovanna to believe that space would soon be created for a new product. At the dawn of a new way of conceiving television, the company therefore imagined what the demands of potential customers would be. Thanks to their intuition, passion for boating and experience in mechanics, Sea&Symphony was able to invent a product that did not exist before.
First flip down mechanism
Contacted by a company based in Genoa, which at the time was refitting the 63-metre superyacht Shahnaz, Sea & Symphony custom-built the first TV movement system to be concealed in the ceiling. In the same year, the mechanism was presented with great success at the METS in Amsterdam and the Genoa Boat Show, where it caught the attention of Norberto Ferretti. Sea & Symphony's range of products thus expanded, and the company's ‘custom’ character, ready to satisfy customer requests by creating ad hoc products, took root more and more.
Boat shows and abroad successes
METZ 2004: at its ninth participation in the fair, the Turin-based company presented a mechanism to move the first Hitaci 32-inch plasma TV, which arrived in Europe a few weeks before the fair. These were the years in which Sea & Symphony's activity expanded considerably abroad, with prestigious installations, such as a system to move a 3-metre statue for a renowned discotheque in Cairo (Egypt)
first contract project
In 2005, the company debuted in the contract sector with an emblematic project. The order consisted of the supply of 43 TV movement mechanisms for the Hotel Caruso, located in Ravello, in the splendid setting of the Amalfi Coast. The satisfaction is twofold: successfully realising an important project and opening the doors to a new and promising market.
Residential sector
The company's activity expands: it is no longer limited to the nautical sector. Numerous non-television-related handling systems are developed, including sophisticated kitchen top handling systems, many of which are custom-made for prestigious customers. As is the case for many Italian excellences, the entry into the global market of numerous competitors makes the way forward even more evident. Products are constantly improved, achieving high quality standards. Sea & Symphony establishes itself as a synonym for reliability and customised products.
the year of showrooms
2024 is a year of big news. DimorI.A., a partner of Sea & Symphony, opens a showroom in the centre of Turin, including five of the company's handling systems. In the same months, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Dubai selects Sea & Symphony as one of the companies representing Made in Italy. The systems produced in Turin are also exhibited in Dubai.
our values
Reliability
The same management has been guiding the company since 1995, offering stability and confidence in a project oriented towards building a long-term relationship with customers, rather than short-term optimisation. Our technical department has more seniority than the industry average. The choice of materials and dimensioning during the design phase ensure the reliability of our products, which is our best calling card. Numerous customers have established a trusting relationship with Sea & Symphony after seeing that our handling systems work perfectly even after a decade of use.
tailor-made products
Our approach to innovation is to listen carefully to our customers' needs. Every Sea & Symphony product is born out of this interaction, in response to the specific needs of customers who, knowing us, know that we are capable of creating something that does not yet exist to satisfy their desires.
Made in Italy
Each of our products is designed, engineered, manufactured and assembled in Italy. We offer a three-year warranty, supplemented by insurance cover valid for two years, up to 50 million euros, for any damage to property and persons. Added to all this is the security of choosing a company that has been meeting its customers' needs for 30 years, during which time it has delivered over 18,000 handling systems
